Positive terminal should be on the LH side, closest to the starter solenoid.
WillBMemberSam.
My ‘D’ has undergone quite a lot of work, and at this present moment in time is not yet back on the road.
However, it’s close. I’ve only the fork lowers to remove, reseal and paint, and the front brake system to overhaul.
After that it’s just a case of fitting the brand new 4-2 exhaust system and all the lovely newly painted bodywork.Due to commitments to other peoples bikes though (I run a classic bike service & repair business and gauge resto service), completion is more likely to be around February.
I also specialize in the complete restoration, engine & turbo system overhaul of Kawasaki Z1R-TC’s and I have another three coming into the workshop starting tomorrow.
All I can say is that I’m so glad I retired a couple of months ago!Yes Lynn’s Raven cafe is only 6 miles from me so we could meet up there and maybe shoot off over to the Ponderosa (horseshoe pass) one day in spring.
Regards Will
WillBMemberSam.
I’m in north Shropshire (Whitchurch) so not far from Wolverhampton.
I might also go to the big meet in Holland, and I also have CB1100RD, nearing restoration completion.
New paint, new standard style stainless & coated exhaust system via our club.
Regards Will
WillBMemberNice one Mark, what model did you end up getting?
Any pics ☺WillBMemberThere was one on Car & Classic website for sale, an RC model.
I did enquire about additional info and pics for it and this is the reply, although he still didn’t give me any contact telephone number so here’s the website link. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/classic_cars.php?category=15&make=®ion=&country=&era=&type=&price=&keyword=cb1100r&S.x=49&S.y=20
As you can see there’s also an RB model for sale on there too.Regards and good luck with your search, Will Barber
Hi Will,
Managed to get some pics today. I imported this from Germany, bought it from Henry Andreas Chairman of the German owners club, it was in their collection, mainly on view, hardly ever used. ( I emailed Glenn before hand to quiz him about Henry ) Bodywork was a bit tired, and had a 4 into 1 exhaust. I have done a mild resto, new owner can tidy up a few bits if they wish. Booked in for an mot tomorrow, hopefully it will pass, then get a UK V5, so not really ready for sale yet, soon. For the pic I stuck my number plate on, hiding it just showing the X, it will of course be an X reg.
I have an RC, struggled to find one, posted an add on the owners club, no joy, but found one in the end. so I bought this pure and simply to give someone in the UK the opportunity to own one. Get it on the raod again. I was going to buy an exhaust from Glenn, but didn’t in the end, bought it from Cary Knapton who gets them made in South Africa in stainless steel. Ceramic coated I collected it on Friday.bye for now

WillBMemberWelcome John, I’m sure one of the other RB owners will be able to help you out.
Regards, WillWillBMemberThank you Trevor, appreciated by all I’m sure.
WillBMemberPhil. Glad you’ve hopefully found a CB1100R at last mate.
Regarding bobbins, I have a lathe in my garage!
So, if anyone can supply me with the dimensions of both the RB and RC/RD models that I’d be happy to make a load up for club members??Please let me know. Will
WillBMemberPhil. My friend never went through with the purchase in the end.
He already has an RD in better condition than that one available anyway, and as he’s stuffed for space at home (he has 60+ bikes already I think) he decided to leave it.WillBMemberYes Trev, I agree and will do what I can to help.
Please keep us in the loop.
Regards WillWillBMemberWell, I passed on your comments regarding the dealer and bike to him, and it looks like he’s taken everything on board you said and cancelled the deal.
I will speak to him and confirm.
Regards WillWillBMemberJust read this….. I don’t suppose anyone knows if we can still get a replica toolbox from anywhere.?
Regards WillWillBMemberAn old friend of mine in Aberdeen has since bought this actual bike and seems very pleased with it.
WillBMemberIt is expensive, but if it’s what you want Phil then it has to be worth the asking price.
I honestly believe that their values will continue to rise, and you’ll not lose anything in the long run.
The thing is, you could spend the next 6 to 12 months searching for another example, and by then they’ll be £16k+.
If it’s what you want (and I know it is), and you have the funds available, then go for it.
Best of luck, WillWillBMemberThank you Trev. I’ve been doing gauge faces for over 30 years now so hopefully they’re more than acceptable quality.
All the best, Will@TrevH 4128 wrote:

Welcome to R ownership.I have recently purchased a set of your gauge faces on Ebay, which I have yet to fit. That’s a winter project bu I have to say the quality looks great.
