Just going through an engine rebuild myself Niccolo. There are several tried and tested mods that can be done to these engines, several that I am going to be doing myself.
A mod to the oil filter pickup screen body to allow it to flow more oil.
Fitting of Vince & Hyde tensioners and guides to A & B chains.
Mod to primary chain oiler to allow oil flow direct to cam chain.
Replacement clutch rubbers.
Updated part for better gear shift selection.Lots of detailed info on these mods is available on the web based CB1100F.net site. Are you aware of this site?
Thanks for the recommendation Andy.
I actually used to check the cb1100f forum quite a lot when I bought the RD but then I completely forgot about it!
Just checking it now and actually a lot of great stuff, for ex. this postUnfortunately I don’t have sufficient competences nor space for making/modifying my own parts.
Any source for buying special parts/mods?NiccoloPMemberHi Wout, that would be great!
Is it an annual event or every 2 years? Anything planned for 2019?

Nice job Niccolo. Few changes made to the old girl. Any details on the modifications?
Thanks Andy. About the mods:
Front Multistrada 1100s ohlins
Rear Ohlins (should be S36PR1C1LB)
JMC alloy swingarmTriumph 675 wheels
katana 1100 carbs (I’ve tried the Lectron FCR but they were way too much!)
lithium batteryThe engine has no modifications or upgrade, it is actually something I’m thinking about.
Any recommendation about the most cost/effective modifications?Cheers!

NiccoloPMemberHi all, I’m Niccolò from Madrid, Spain (while originally from Rome I moved here 3 years ago).
I’ve joined this forum in first place in 2012 when I bought my CB1100RD and – since I was to restore it – there was (and there is) no better place than this to get infos.
Time has passed and the restoration project took quite long (about 4 years !). Now since I live in Spain I’ve been happily riding this beauty and I kind of miss some mate to share opinions, suggestions, etcSo, please meet her:

TrevNiccoloPMemberThanks Steve,
I’ve seen that swingarm , but I’m looking for an aluminium one (I’v talked with the seller and that one is steel)NiccoloPMemberWout thanks anyway.
As you probably have your original swingarm down, any chance you can take some measure?
I’m thinking to adapt something as well and before buying one I’d like to see if it may fit.If possible I would like to know
-length eye to eye
-width of the front axle
-width of the rear axlethanks in advance

Hey Wout, congrats for your bike!
I’m looking for a swingarm like yours, what brand is that?NiccoloPMemberNiccoloPMemberNiccoloPMemberNiccoloPMember@Nat_P 2222 wrote:
I also have a CB1300, but naked.
Hey Nat, would you do a favor?
can you take some measures from the cb1300 swingarm?
I’m possibly thinking to fit one on my cb1100rd :pIf so I’d need:
-total length
-width: both where the front and rear axles are
-distance from the front swingarm axle to the rear shocks eyeletthanks!
