Hi Adrian, I had a look at that bike at Stafford. It looks OK visually although it hast lost the exhaust, original indicators, and now has a 900F generator & cover (the R is different I eternally and externally).

I also noticed that the entire bodywork & tank have been repainted at some point.

At the auction £6,500 price it would be a cheap bike. However, why a bike showing such low mileage would require that amount of work & none standard parts struck me as odd…?

Hi Dale, certainly not my area of expertise but I have heard tell that all rebuild kits are not equal and some have wrong parts in them..?
Are the inlet rubbers sealing as they should, are you using std Airbox etc…?

    Cheers Glenn

Hi Peter, I’ve always heard good things about NRP. Not used any 1100r pieces from them myself. The NRP VFR carb parts I have used were fine though.
May be worth looking at Cary Knapton’s Supersport website as well as I believe Cary has kits that he has tested to be ethanol compatible now.
    Cheers h season’s greetings..👍

Hi Ashley and welcome to the fun of chasing faults on 40 year old bikes..😄
Have you checked the alternator output. Not unknown for windings to go open circuit and/ brushes to fail.?
    Cheers…

Hi Ashley and welcome to the group. There is lots of information here and there is a link to the chatter on the club Facebook page too – you do not need to be on Facebook to follow it.
Just click the tab Facebook Latest under the News tab. I look forward to following your progress.. 🙂
