I must admit that I wouldn’t bother……140 is fine and it is often true that a looser engine goes rather better!!
And, with any major maintenance work there is always the spectre of something going wrong….
Especially with the well known 1100r problem of removing the barrels.
Another viewpoint to chew over…..!!

Well, I thought that I knew most things about the 1100R but I had to go and have a look at my bike…..!!
The paint is over 30 years old…..but I reckon that it is Satin Black…..and the underside of the seat should also be black as well.

I’ve looked a bit further…..and I now have 6 DZUS clips and 6 chrome cam screws!! More than happy to send them to you if wanted.

I have 5 old DZUS clips but none of the cam screws that they need – just a few of the spacer/washers that also go somewhere near……it was a long time ago that I worked on one of these fairings. Here’s a picture….

Well spotted Andy – it was only a quick flash of my fine and original RD…….that I will be selling soon. I was one of the two track Marshals riding around the circuit all day, it was hot and I’m fairly close to making the decision to pass it on to a younger owner.

I will also be in the Mallory paddock but with Ray Knight who will be riding the Hughes Trident….that I found at Bonhams after being missing for 35 years. Hope to meet up.

That picture is very much a ‘prototype’ as it shows what looks like an RD but with an RC engine unit…??

Anyway, I have one of the original RD double sided A4 brochures….and a few copies.
