This week I have hired a ultrasonic bath that fits my full bank of carbs in it.
£30 a day from local shop. I am going to clean everything I can find.
the £30 doesnt start until he drops the special cleaning fluid off at my house on wednesday though. I will let you know how it works.
stevebFebruary 25, 2016 at 5:56 pm #12752AnonymousInactiveOil and filter change today. Other fluids this weekend.
March 22, 2016 at 4:11 pm #12773AnonymousInactiveTook my RC for its first run of the year after a winter refurb, rebuilt the engine and had the Frame powder coated, Rebuilt all the brakes and fitted a pair of replica silencers from Holland
Bike ran very smoothly and pulls far better only problem was one of the mirrors kept blowing back, have fitted a pair of replica VFR 750 ones as found the chrome ones had a very restricted view
Now this is finished i can crack on with the other RC i bought a few weeks back as a restoration project
May 7, 2016 at 9:44 am #12833JohnSMemberTook the 1100R on a 300 klm ride today to the BellBird Cafe near Kenilworth QLD. with some other Vintage Japanese M/C club members. The Cafe is dedicated as a museum to 70s and 80s motorcycles, but sadly is closing next month.

Great restaurants and some nice bars!!.
Lovelt part of Norway!.July 22, 2016 at 10:01 am #12945StephenSParticipantTook the 1100 out today for a really nice ride. Had to go out early before it gets too hot. It was 24 at 0900 here.
drove to Trelleborg and then took the coast road to Hollviken( in southern Sweden). 70Kmh speed limit so lots of time for gawping.
it really is a lovely road with some nice views.
its another nearly 30 day here, two weeks ago it was 38!!
i thought I would mention that with all the good weather you are having back in the UK?
July 27, 2016 at 6:18 am #12946AnonymousInactiveFinished all the cleaning, measuring, checking and assembling of the two crankcase halves and their components.
Wout came to the rescue with a primary chain tensioner, so when that arrives it all goes together, and will be hopefully good for another 35 odd years.

The internals will be running Hyde Racing cam chain guide and tensioner, along with various mods from this site and the 1100f site.
As can be seen, the crankcases will not be black painted, but the clutch, oil pump and valve covers will be still painted black.
The two crankshaft end covers will also remain ‘R’ gold.
Thanks to the many on this site who have made this process quite painless so far?
I even managed to get the cylinder removed with minimal drama – despite heavily rusted studs and plenty of mud in the inboard stud cylinder holes!
BrettPJuly 27, 2016 at 10:06 pm #12947AnonymousInactiveKeep us updated as you carry out the engine mods Brett. I for one am interested in seeing them carried out on an R motor.
Any particular reason for not painting the cases? -
