Hey peeps .. can anyone tell me if 1100f rings cabe used in 1100r pistons… Part numbers are different .. but only the model prefix

Hey Carl.. I believe I have read somewhere that the rings are the same but sorry I can’t be sure.

I assume since you are asking about rings you are not bringing the R to Mallory next week. Are you going on the TL?

Hi Carl,

The 1100F rings are not the same as 1100R rings, they are thicker creating more drag = less power. However I understand they will fit the pistons.

Going to go with plan B ..1123 .. : )..won’t be for a couple of months ..So I’ll just keep topping her up …lol

I have F-rings on my latest RC restoration.
Bike runs without probelms.
At my age you don,t need the maximum power anymore.

I’d go the way wout .. but I already have the 1123 pistons … And my bores are not the best .. so it’ll work out well .. : )

Sorry people, can someone confirm (or deny as they say) that the piston grooves require a minor machine to get the F rings on please?
I’ve got my pistons out, bores are standard and good nik. If it’s just a matter of getting F rings, a hone and away we go , I’ll be happy.
