There seem to be a few new players on the Classic Insurance scheme now – Has anyone found a particularly good deal or is it still the usual Carol Nash & Footman James cartel…?

    Cheers.. Glenn

I’m with Peter James as well. He does offer a discount for club members. My R plus trail bike £85 with no mileage restriction.

Just got a Peter James quote for 1100R & F and CBX of £138-00, but wouldn’t cover the Blackbird (too young, the bike that is!). FootmanJames for all for is £326-00. Worth considering, will check again next renewal.

I’m with Lynbrook. 2 x RCs at guaranteed replacement value of £11k (was being cautious!), an XT600 and a Thundercat for £240.00

Only £14k? I doubt you’d bag a replacement for that would you Glenn?

14K for a RC30 !, If you could find one for that price you should snap it up, mine is insured for 20K and thats probably too little

Mmm good point – maybe I’d better up it a tad – with only 3,000 miles on it eh..?

    Bike Insurance time again…

For the RC30 & the RB I was quoted £500 + by Carol Nash, £300+ by Specialist Insurance so I’ve stayed with Peter James @ £260 – both bikes on agreed values. I’d forgotten I had Euro Bike breakdown cover and stated shopping around before setting off for Spa this weekend. Bikes of this age attract a single trip premium of £100+ so getting it thrown it (so to speak) is well worth it.

    Cheers… Glenn
